bP (Melbourne) bP (Brendan Palmer) has a background in music production, artist collectives, record label management and broadcasting. In recent times, heís turned his attention towards event production and DJ performances, through the environ and uber lingua projects. Currently, one of his focuses as a DJ is in modern music that uses a diversity of languages, a leftover of his time working with SBS. As different languages use different parts of the brain, and as languages not understood by a listener become a non-contextual sonic element of any given piece of music, Brendan is inspired to discover as much "post world" music he possibly can. In 2004 Brendan has focussed on his two Melbourne regular events Environ and Uber_Lingua both highly successful projects in their own right. click here for a free mp3 download from bP Coco Varma (UK) Coco Varma is one of the early pioneers of the UK Asian Underground, and is a producer under the name Earthtribe. He featured on the Real World Records Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan tribute-remix compilation of 2000 alongside the likes of Nitin Sawhney, Asian Dub Foundation and Fundamental. Coco has also produced many compilations and solo albums and promoted many an event in London. Coco is on a pseudo tour of Australia and has visited this country many times before playing with acts such as The Bird and Bobby Singh. DJ Sheerien (Sydney) DJ Sheerien is a Punjabi-Australian from the north coast of NSW worked with bP as his Sub-continental specialist at SBS. She still works at Alchemy Radio and to quote the web site "competing for her affection is a variety of Bhangra beats, dub-infected dhol lines and rare bollywood bootlegs." Sheerien's developed strongly as a DJ over the past 2 years. sakamoiz (Cygnet, Tasmania) Post-Swiss, pseudo-Mexican, Tasmanian rogue...after an attraction to accordions whilst a boy, sakamoiz became lost in musical darkness. Some years later, the sound of tapping away on keyboards leaving him unfulfilled, sakamoiz became known as a collector of some of the finest underground music on the planet... Selections spiced with Latin, Germanic, African and Aboriginal sounds have been the flavour of sakamoiz sets at Uber_Lingua's Melbourne club, St Jerome's, throughout 2004.
Dubwise (ex-Adelaide, Melbourne) Paul Armour, AKA DJ Dubwise as been playing music
for the past 12 years. His sounds vary depending on the event, however
he focuses strictly selector styles: Dub, Reggae, Funk and Soul. More recently
the Dub/Reggae end of things has risen to the surface and Paul founded,
promoted, and was a selector at two of the essential sound systems in Adelaide,
Babylon Taxi and Dubwise. As DJ Dubwise he has regularly supported NZ act
'Salmonella Dub' in Adelaide. In 2003 he followed his calling and traveled
to New Zealand for the 'Sound Splash' festival in Raglan. Paul has traveled
the vast terrain of Australia, picking up rarities, and therefore is guaranteed
to drop a few exclusives, demos or imports amongst his sets. In an Uber
Lingua style situation Paul brings out a blend of multi-lingual tracks
(Korean, French etc) and his loved forms of RootsÖ
