featuring Australiaís global music fanatics
the Uber Lingua Sound System

Promoters of trans-cultural party music from all corners of the globe, Uber Lingua pulls from their vast archive and network of sounds from around the planet... Come to an Uber event and expect to traverse the globe and experience the world's languages while you dance yer ass off... DJs and MCs from both the Sydney and Melbourne crews converge on Adelaide, combining with local like minded types to stoke up the sub-cultural fire on Womadelaide weekend 07...

Sheerien (Syd)
Punjabi ancient booty beats

DJ Sheerien, who recently returned from an extended trip overseas, is an exponent of ancient booty beats, Sheerien is a fourth-generation Australian Punjabi whose transient home is between the banana fields of North Coast NSW, the Sydney studios of SBS Radio and the nation's most pumpin' parties. Her recent escapade overseas saw her venture thru China and her motherland India on the way to the UK, where she continued her on going relationship with the highly active UK Asian massive. Many of the leading exponents of the formerly known Asian Underground (it's now quite overground) are close friends, so she's sure to have a solid selection of brand new (and some un-released) tracks...

bP (Melb)
Irish Urban Internationalist

A national broadcaster for almost 7 years at SBS Radio, now a producer at Melbourne's legendary 3RRR, Brendan Palmer also DJs as bP. The brains behind the Uber Lingua concept, this Irish Aussie is an international music fanatic. He has a solid network of multi-lingual music sources and along with simply enjoying the types of music that feature languages he doesn't speak he reckons... "As different languages use different parts of the brain, and as languages not understood by a listener become a non-contextual sonic element of any given piece of music, allowing a deeper appreciation of human vocals." bP is inspired to discover as much 'post world' music he possibly can.

Mashy P (Syd)
Cultcha Blenda extraordinare

Mashy P has been active in Sydney's underground playing, remixing and creating leftfield beats from hip hop and dub to electro and techno since arriving from England in 1987.  Mashy P has become increasingly interested in World music/electronic fusion, local and international hip-hop, experimental RnB, Bastard pop, Bootlegs and Mash Ups. Recently he travelled to Qatar to produce and DJ the show music for Australia's Circus Worx.  While in Qatar, he remixed and sampled local radio broadcasts putting together arabesque electro, beats and drum 'n bass.

Gonzo (Melb)
Peruvian Roots meets Gypsy swing

Gonzo is a stray that wandered into the Uber Lingua equation... A peruvian who used to live in Sydney, now resides in Melbourne and has been welcomed onto the decks where he conjurs up some seriously good vibes... Reggae, Roots, Latin and Gypsy tunes that will melt the most hardened musical aficianado.

Kween G (Syd)
Ugandan Killa Kween MC

The KillaQueenz are a sydney based rap duo, who have recently self-produced a CD showcasing their musical talents. They work with producer DJ Jonah as 4:20 and played with Uber Lingua and the Kenyan Hip Hop crew Sinpare back in early 06...
